Senior Spotlight: JackLynn

JackLynnGoreWM.jpgOur Senior Spotlight this week is JackLynn from East River HS. There is not much this outgoing student doesn’t do. She is involved in many school activities such as, Athletic Training, FFA, BETA, NHS, NTHS, Wrestling, Track, APEX, French Honor Society, CREW and more! JackLynn has also earned over 100 community service hours with a PTA Chapter at her previous elementary school and helped out in a Summer Sports Medicine program and spent time at an Orthopedic Sports Medicine office.

On top of all of her school activities and volunteer work, she also currently works as an office assistant for a local contractor which she told us has taught her organizational skills and responsibility.

JackLynn also has an interesting and unique hobby. She told us she has been scuba diving since she was 10 years old!

Her aspirations after graduating are just as high as her current endeavors. Plans include attending college to study Sports Medicine and Physical Therapy. Her focus will be to obtain her Doctoral of Physical Therapy which she hopes to use by working for the Department of Veterans. She would like to work with returning service men and women who are in need of physical therapy.

We learned that that there are three people who JackLynn credits for inspiring her and leading her to choose the career path of Physical Therapy. She has a brother who tore his ACL playing High School football which initially sparked her interest in sports medicine. She also credits her mom and Mr. Mirocha (Athletic Training Advisor) for being two of the most influential people in her life. She told us, “My mother has always pushed me to reach for the stars and beyond; no matter how much I fought her. Mr.Mirocha sparked my interest in medicine and pushed me to go outside of my comfort zones”.

JackLynn you are obviously a very driven and talented student and we are sure you will succeed on the path to pursuing a career in Physical Therapy! Good luck in all that you do!

 

 

 

Senior Spotlight: Adrian

This week’s Senior Spotlight is Adrian who is a senior at West Orange High School. Adrian is involved in National Honor Society and playsAdrianDelgadoWM.jpg Baseball. He also volunteers at his church and helps with the youth groups.

After graduating from West Orange HS, Adrian plans to study Criminology & Sociology but hasn’t quite decided what school he is going to attend.

Adrian has had some pretty difficult challenges in his life. In 7th grade he was in the hospital in intensive care and it took him a full year to recuperate but he told us that experience made him realize how valuable life is. His dad has also helped him have a positive outlook on life. When we asked Adrian who the most influential person in his life was, he told us, “My dad, when he was younger he came over from Cuba. Growing up he had little and worked hard to achieve what he has today and he taught me to always my give my best”.

Our experiences definitely make us stronger and we are sure that you will use yours to do great things Adrian! We hope you have a great rest of your senior year!

Senior Spotlight: Michaela

This week’s Senior Spotlight is Michaela, from Eamichaeladizneywmst River High School. Michaela participates in several school activities such as theater, Improv and National Honors Society. She has also volunteered at the Indie Book Festival.

After she graduates High School, she plans to go to Rollins College to study Theater and Film. She told us ” I’d love to see myself directing either on Broadway or on a move set. It’s a tough business for women to get in to and I want to prove that women can be amazing”. Michaela has been in theater since she was eight years old and is very passionate about the field.

Another interesting thing Michaela told us is that her sister, Rachael, has been her biggest inspiration. She said, “Rachael has inspired me by how strong and brave she is. She’s always by my side whether I’m up or down. Plus she’s been a hard-worker and I aspire to be like her”.

Along with going to college, she also mentioned that after graduating, she is most looking forward to traveling and hopes to go all over the world and volunteer.

Michaela, we love how inspired and driven you are! Let us know once you make it big on Broadway or in Film! We look forward to seeing what great things you do. 🙂

Senior Spotlight: Keith

KeithPerryWM.jpgKeith is a senior at ASA Philip Randolph. He is on the Football team there and hopes to continue that into his career by playing professional football. Along with his football dreams, he also hopes to get a degree in Criminal Justice so that he can be a private investigator, an exciting career choice for sure!

When Keith isn’t at school or playing football, he can also be found helping rebuild abandoned homes. He told us that he is often working to help others and looks forward to continuing that after he graduates.He also told us that he sees himself as a “school workaholic”.

When asked who the most influential person in his life is, Keith told us, “My mom, she helps show me the things that I need to learn like where to pay bills, driving, etc”. These are great skills to know before being out on your own and it is wonderful that his mom made sure to prepare Keith for life after he leaves home.

Senior Spotlight: Megan

MeganAmatoWM.jpgWest Orange HS Senior, Megan, is a well rounded and dedicated student. She has
participated in Student Government, Varsity Soccer and NHS during her Senior year. Megan has also volunteered at the bettered women’s shelter and helped feed the home during Thanksgiving and Christmas.

Her plans after High School include attending UCF to study in the medical field and become a nurse. She told us she chose this field because she wants to help those in need. Megan described her personality as caring and someone who tries to see the good in everyone.

Megan has not always had it easy. She told us about a terrible tragedy her family had to face. Lightning struck their home and it burnt down. They they lost everything they owned and had to completely rebuild their lives.

Her mom is her biggest inspiration in life, she told us, “she inspires me to be a better person every day. Although she has had a rough upbringing, she is so happy all of the time and has a contagious smile”.

Senior Spotlight: Tytianna

Our Senior Spotlight this week is about Lake Mary HS Senior, Tytianna. She participates inTytiannaKeyWM.jpg Dance and is a Cheerleader at her school and has also helped at community events such as her church carnival and volunteered to help feed the homeless.

She is still undecided on which college she plans to attend but she knows for certain that she wants to become a pediatrician. This field was a natural fit for her because she loves working with kids and feel she always knows how to make them laugh and feel comfortable around her.

When asked who the most influential person in her life is, she told us, “My grandfather taught me to never give up no matter what and that people believe in me”.

Tytianna is excited about her future after graduating as is looking forward to a new world she has yet to experience and getting the chance to do things on her own.

Senior Spotlight: Taylor

taylorkiburzwmTimber Creek High School senior, Taylor, is aiming to graduate as the Salutatorian of her class! She has participated in Jazz band and is hoping to join the weightlifting team in her Senior year. Taylor plans to attend UCF to study nursing and become an emergency room nurse someday.

When asked what were two interesting facts about herself, Taylor told us she has worn her hair bright red (as you see in her photo) all throughout High School and she has a “giant” dog. She also told us she has a love for travelling and helping people!

When asked who was an influential person in her life, she told us, “My dad, he had a horrible injury in 2013 and he continued to persevere and work through it”.

After graduating, she is most looking forward to being able to immerse herself in the subjects she loves, health & nursing.

Senior Spotlight: Carmen

For those of you who didn’t follow us in previous years, each school year our seniors who do an Ultimate session have the opportunity to be chosen as a Senior spotlight. They are required to fill out an application and return it to us and if chosen, they receive 15% off their order.

Our first Senior Spotlight for the 2016-2017 school year is Carmen from Lake Highland carmentutorino-2Preparatory School.

Carmen will graduate with several honors & awards which include National Society of High
School Scholars, National Honor Society and the 100-Hour Volunteer Service & Merit Award. He is not only a scholar but also an athlete. Carmen plays basketball and men’s volleyball and he even volunteer coaches for a youth basketball camp.

Although he is undecided on what school he plans to attend for college, he knows he would like to major in Science and go in to the medical field later down the road.

When asked what unique experiences Carmen brings to his studies, he told us, “After visiting and touring several countries, I bring a unique, worldly perspective into the classroom”.

It is very clear Carmen is a dedicated student and has amazing life experiences to share!

Senior Spotlight: Claire

St. Lucie West Centennial High senior, Claire, has started her career path long before graduating. She is graduating with honors but will also have her associates degree and a CLairecertification in child care which she received by participating in the early childhood program.

She isn’t stopping there though! Claire intends to use her child care experience along with a medical degree to work in pediatric oncology.

We asked Claire who an influential teacher in her life was and she told us, “My early childhood teacher has been my most influential. She has inspired me to aim for goals no matter how high and to always rise above in tough situations”.

Claire we applaud you in all you have accomplished! Good luck in everything you do!

 

Senior Spotlight: Breanne

BreanneBreanne attends Harrison School of the Arts and is the track team captain! She is involved in multiple other activities like weightlifting & Spanish club. Breanne knows exactly what her plans are after grauddating this year. She is going to Davidson to study biology and plans to go into Orthodontics.

Outside of her school activities, Breanne has been on four mission trips which taught her to work well with others and try to collaborate ideas. She also worked at Chick-fil-a which helped her with communication and team building skills

When we asked her about her most challenging undertaking so far, she told us “My dad got cancer when I was little and I found y faith and grew stronger with him”.
