Well, we have made it to the final part of the current decade. A whole lot was going on during this period. Although we lost our beloved Ruth Tucker in 2007 and then Leonard Tucker Sr. in 2011, Leonard’s continuously made incredible advancements and achieve amazing accomplishments. In 2006, we installed our second High Speed Digital Photo Printer to handle our increased volume. This is where Leonard’s really begins to focus on the high school senior market. By 2008, we had installed a brand new CTP System from Screen USA. This system generates 300 medium format aluminum printing plates per day. The pressroom and pre-press departments benefit from this increase in efficiency.
We also gained a wonderful addition to the Leonard’s sales team. In 2008, Dan Bell joined the team as our Vice President of Sales. Dan came with over thirty years of experience in our market. His resume includes working with Olan Mills and Josten’s as National Sales Managers.
By 2009, Leonard’s is the fastest growing business in the state of Florida for High School Seniors; an accomplishment achieved two years in a row. We continued to grow in the High School Senior market at a much faster rate than anyone in our region through 2010. After the passing of Leonard R. Tucker Sr. in 2011, the company was left in the good hands of left his children and grandchildren.
What is happening in the world of Leonard’s in 2012, you ask? Well, over the past few years we have converted our video department from analog to 100% digital. Leonard’s is now completely free of all photo, litho film and video tape. A huge advancement considering we started out using glass plates in 1900 and then progressed to film in the 1920’s. Hence our saying: Leonard’s- From Glass Plate to Solid Slate!™
